FLOR AGUILAR

I am Flor Aguilar, an illustrator and graphic designer born in Mexico and currently residing and working in Belgium.

From an early age, I was one of the fortunate ones who always knew what my calling was: to translate ideas, stories, and emotions, both my own and those of others, into color and form.

I have a deep passion for creating illustrations for newspapers, magazines, educational books for children, as well as promotional campaigns for both the commercial and cultural sectors. My diverse skill set includes creating caricatures and character designs for animation and print.

Influenced by my Mexican heritage, my style is characterized by its bold and vibrant nature, spanning from abstract lines to playful, organic forms. I seamlessly combine analog and digital techniques in my work.

My editorial illustrations have graced the pages of Belgium's leading newspapers and magazines, including Trends, Vie & Culture, Netto Magazine, and "De Tijd," among others. Thanks to my contributions, I had the honor of receiving the 'European Newspaper Award 2016' in the 'Visual Storytelling' category. Other esteemed clients include The Cambridge University Press (UK), The Belgian Royal Museum for Central Africa, The Belgian National Fisheries Museum in Oostduinkerke, the Province of Antwerp, Sfinks Festival, and many more.
