Troostkermis Volvoorde 2026

I had the pleasure of creating the campaign image for the annual Troostkermis in Vilvoorde a project that feels especially meaningful, as the poster has become a beloved collectible and a small piece of the city’s visual history.

At the heart of the illustration is the Belgian draft horse, a powerful symbol of strength, tradition, and local pride. I chose to depict it in a dynamic and lively posture, bringing a sense of movement and joy that echoes the vibrant atmosphere of the fair.

To balance this strength with a softer, more human touch, I added a dandelion in the horse’s mouth a gentle, playful detail that hints at the arrival of spring and early summer. For me, it speaks of renewal, lightness, and warmth, and helps create an image that feels both strong and inviting.

The campaign was developed across multiple formats from posters and banners to printed publications and event communication — creating a cohesive and recognizable visual language throughout the city.

A project close to my heart, celebrating tradition, seasonality, and community.
